Bravo TV recently invested in Houston. The city is the location for season 19 of Excellent chefand last week, the The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Actor Sutton Stracke chose Bayou City for a charity event. Next to The top Salon owner Rachel Gower and Trees of Hope board member Kory Blum, the trio held a private charity show at Gower’s Memorial home. Fashion-forward Houstonians bought pieces from Sutton’s West Hollywood boutique, The Sutton Concept.
“I love Texas, and with the LA store, we do a lot of e-commerce, and I just thought it would be fun to branch out and take a bit of the Sutton concept and sprinkle it on,” said said Sutton. Houstonia. “It was so much fun getting to know the Trees of Hope organization, and I love how every place we go we let the host pick the charity, which has been so cool because that you get to know the community a lot more.”
After a charity show in her hometown of Augusta, Georgia, she reached out to Blum and Gower to plan the event in Houston. Proceeds from the event went to the Trees of Hope Foundation, which benefits children who reside at the Star of Hope Mission.
“The money we raise is for the kids,” Gower told Houstonia. “It’s clothes, books, toys, all kinds of necessities. Although we have a main fundraiser for the Trees of Hope Christmas Gala, we thought, ‘Wouldn’t- Wouldn’t it be great if we could do things all year round?’ Today is one of those things.”
As you entered the charming Gower mansion, shelves upon shelves of designer clothes and accessories covered the formal living room. Among the womenswear featured were striking dresses from European designer La Double J, Sutton’s incredibly soft cashmere collection and some denim bottoms from Joe’s Jeans. In the center of the room was an arrangement of shimmering jewelry by Suzanne Wilson, Allen Anderson and Ama Dao and handbags by Italian designer Corto scattered throughout the presentation. The pieces were priced from $150 to $3,200 and handpicked by the reality TV star.
“Most of the designers I have, I know them personally, so there’s a story behind them,” exclaimed Sutton. “I know it all. I also think that universally, style is style. It’s a matter of how you want to fit into your wardrobe. Whether you’re from Texas, whether you live in Paris or New York, it doesn’t matter. You can make everything work for you as long as you like it.”
As she prepares for the upcoming 12th season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Sutton shares a three-word description of what fans can expect from her this season: laughter, horror, and redemption.
