When it comes to jewelry, French designers know that when it comes to creating an ensemble that is both pretty and chic, the right balance of sparkle and shine can make or break a look. This Paris Fashion Week, look no further than the current guard of the city’s jewelers to nail this sense of the je ne sais quoi of a French girl. Charlotte Chesnais presented a collection combining graphic and fluid lines, with redesigned basics and abstract shapes creating a set of small sculptures. The designer is a master of tasteful eccentricity, having worked for Kenzo, Mayiet, Maison Kitsuné and Paco Rabanne, with whom she still collaborates on their leather goods and jewelry. Sophie Buhai presented a deliciously architectural collection, available at The Line, while Louise Damas presents, season after season, a collection based on the notion of poetic femininity. With this French set, expect semi-precious pearls mixed with brass and crystal, gold hair adornments and just the right touch of diamonds. Click on the best French jewelry brands to buy now.
